Oh dear, here is my first noise track. The three of us were all psyched up to do a fourth rehearsal of my piano trio but I looked at the new notes and had a breakdown. It was a kind of musical writer's-block. I notice that I have gained a tiny following on Bandcamp and I knew I couldn't let you down, so you will be pleased to hear that I pulled myself together and vowed to get back on the horse. A noise track.

A former-friend lost his temper when I told him about this change of direction. He didn't realise that I was recording him as he shouted at me for half an hour. He left in tears. It's not unusual. I have incorporated his shouting into this piece. It has turned out better than I expected. If I'd known it was going to turn out as well as this I would've tried harder. Perhaps held the microphone closer to his face. Because - a tiny secret - I didn't try at all.

Does anyone try when they're making noise ? I always thought it was some kind of holiday. And I love to export my music raw - so it always has that quality that frightens pets. I haven't been making physical copies (CDRs) of my albums lately - but I will make one copy of this one and I shall send it to that ex-friend and he will lie in his bed and I will lie in mine and he will realise what he is missing.
