FRIDAY 8 MARCH

This is one of my OH-BUGGER-IT things where I got more and more miserable and confused and outside the window it rained and rained and in the end it was 50:50 whether to delete it or export it and maybe it was the wrong decision - it'll be a long time till I'm lucky enough to do a track like the previous one and this one comes nowhere close oh piss. The worst thing you can do is something you really really like - cos for weeks afterwards all the normal shit seems just horribly normal.

It sounds like the same five seconds looping on for eternity - but it's actually ludicrously complicated and millions of different things are happening but this is one of those things that ought to go on a cassette so that people can either play it once or more-likely-never and then it can go down in myth and I'll tell people Oh yes I did all that stuff on tapes of legend which no one now owns - too rare even to be worth a fortune on Discogs all swanky or wanky.

It's been a fairly social day today and everyone's said the same thing - that they feel tired. Doing this shit made me feel tired. It was also the rain and the government and the only bright spot is the good news that I was invited back to do another Inresponseto contribution - this one about Edward Hopper - and I chose his picture of people sitting in deckchairs all facing the sun - oh if only - my piece wasn't as good as the Kandinsky thingy so I made the dimbo mistake of thinking that I'd improve it by making it longer - will I never learn ?

Anyway it's a great series. I haven't heard the other contributions yet but I am embarrassed to notice that my piece is almost as long as everyone elses' put together. Oh god oh god oh god !!!! - What a bloody show-off I am !!!! I'm sure everyone else's is ten times better than mine and you can hear them all here -

And !!! - even more exciting news - there will soon be a proper album of my music - not a vanity project that I'm putting out myself - though god knows I am more than vain enough - but an actual physical thing that someone else is putting out - their money and sweat and toil and everything - I am massively flattered. It will of course be hugely limited edition-wise - and if none have sold after three years I shall contact family members and pay them to buy copies to help me save face.

It will be the first ever Sonja Berlin-Jones proper album. I'll keep you posted. But start saving up for it. It'll be your only proof that you were into Sonja B-J back in the obscure days before she got all rich and famous and millions of wishful people saying they were fans back in these beautiful quiet obscure free unhurried unpressured no-fan days.
