WEDNESDAY 20 MARCH

Thanks to John C and other more-under-the-radar people for surprising me and downloading my Hyperminimal Hadj album of a few days ago - I like it too and am heartened that it is my second-most downloaded album. And thanks to David H & to the other more under-the-radar downloaders of my previous masterpiece too - Watching European Films At 4am - it very quickly shot up the Sonja B-J charts and is already my most downloaded album. This one comes from the same gene pool but it's its very ugly brother - bleak and very dull - though I am quite a fan of dull music. I think it is horribly suitable for this depressing day.

It was meant to be uploaded in good time for the Budget statement today but while it was uploading we went out and spotted a BT van in the next road and you always know what that means - and sure enough when we got back home the computer screen was black with just the words "System Not Found" or something and so it all had to be done again. Oh the high dramas of the Bandcampers Life.

Last month I did a very bad album whose title started with the word Fucking and then the rest was a play on the names of three bands - My Bloody Valentine and Pussy Riot and Atari Teenage Riot - and unsurprisingly it wasn't very popular and it all passed without comment. But in the following weeks more and more people were visiting this page and according to the stats they were coming here after googling "my bloody pussy" and "bloody pussy" and the usual embarrassing misspellings.

It's quite amusing for a while but then I got bored of realising that my ""high"" statistics are due to a misunderstanding and the heartbreak that these people are after my body and not my music - so I have changed the name of that album - and I only mention all this boring info for the benefit of anyone having trouble attracting visitors to their site - just call your album something like Fuck My Bloody Pussy and attract millions of men (& women?) whose taste in sex is as off-beat as our taste in music (is).
