THURSDAY 14 FEBRUARY

For a while I buggered around with a toy xylophone but it is impossible to make it sound unterrible so in the end here is something unxylophonic and piano-y and safe and that sounds like everything else I have ever done. If everyone else is allowed to be in a musical rut then why not me ? It's a nice rut. I haven't counted my Bandcamp albums but I have measured them and it's a few feet and there must be about a hundred there and I think it will soon be time to take a break and learn how to make tracks that aren't just slow random piano.

This one played quietly overnight on repeat and by the time I woke up it had turned into a miserable depressing slow ding-dong ding-dong thing on and on and on and on. Never mind. If someone has just had all their family and children and pets killed and they're suicidally depressed about the terrible weather this might go right up their alley or whatever the expression is.

It gives me the excuse to use the "depressive black metal" tag - something that I've always wanted. A whole new tranche of fans will come and go. And actually - now that I've turned this up again and had a piss and some coffee and dark chocolate and a cigarette it's okay. People will always hate your music if the gig goes on too long and they're dying for a cigarette or a piss or a bus.
