SATURDAY 8 DECEMBER

this is okay - it is truly ultra-minimal and will be unbearable to human ears - it started off as a piano piece but I got fed up with it so I tried to make it more interesting and obviously it got more boring - so I added some mangled voices and it was even worse again - so I got rid of the piano - and suddenly it got okay again.

I've half a mind to call this my christmas album - it is like the spooky inbred rape-child of John Rutter - but in a beautiful austere way. I've tagged one of two of my recent albums "christmas" and from the statistics it's a great way of attracting visitors - but I believe in karma and have no wish to punish decent innocent people out for a bit of Rudolph. Apologies to anyone who has sat through two minutes of my hyperminimal grimness waiting for sleigh-bells. And I'm not wacky. So I have abandoned the idea of the official "Sonja Berlin-Jones Christmas Album".

And what use would any christmas visitors be ? I couldn't convert them to my music. I can't convert anyone to my music. I must just wait for TimeTheGreatHealer - one day somebody important will discover me. I must thank the great Neil Campbell for having a link to this site from his wonderful website. And also I must thank Pyongyangplastics, which sometimes says nice things about me.

But apart from those two things I don't think I'll be famous in my lifetime. It's a pity, because I'd actually handle the fame thing quite well. I'm usually talkative and would be good on chat shows. And in the dull world of music-interviews I'd be a rare pearl. But I'm no longer decorative. Time is running out. Some might say my constant creative flurry is some kind of outsider neurosis.

But I know it's just a lack of quality control. Don't talk to me about quality control - I have heard the quality you want controlled - and it is better than the qualities you want to set free - all the best music I've ever heard has been the kind of wild extreme rigid stuff that you'd ban - but today the argument is with the censors - until another punk-rock comes along and wakes the world up to how anal they are - I am part of that liberating punk rock - and this album is part of that liberating punk rock.
